<p>I needed the representative to listen to the issue I was dealing with more fully. He would have helped me better if recommendations were provided on fixing a leaky roof as opposed to just trying to convince me I just needed to see a heating specialist to address a condensation issue on an exterior pipe. My roof is still leaking, I don't have an estimate, and now am forced to seek help elsewhere. Maybe the job was too small for C&C? </p> <br />

Our representative meet with the homeowner and she explained that the issue was condensation on a heater stack pipe on the front of the roof. Our representative , after hearing all of her concerns, suggested that she consult a heating contractor. To her admission the condensation does not occur during rain storms or from snow. Instead of giving her an estimate to repair the roof we suggested she consult the HVAC company. We would not want to just give an estimate for a repair that would probably not stop the issue. We thought that there may have been some sort of clerical error because their estimate included services for which we did not ask as well as items that our roof didn't have. We did set upa time for them to come out and explainthe estimate to us, but they never showed or followed up with us.

Requested an estimate for roof work. They did not show up for the first apt. and called to ask what I thought of the estimate. Made a second apt and the roof was never inspected. I was told that I would need to pay $350 and they would do a water hose test first and then if Ichose themfor the project, a portion of the fee would go toward the work. This was never explained as their process and I did not choose this company. <br /> 

Business response:

The homeowner explained that the leak was repaired before but did not stop the leak. Our estimator suggested that the homeowner have a hose test done to identify the actual problem so that the homeowner would not be wasting their time and money. Half of the hose test money would be refunded to the homeowner when the appropriate repair was completed. We are sorry that the homeowner was not happy with the suggested resolution. It was hard to get a siding and roofing company to come out for an estimate after Hurricane Sandy, because they were all so busy. This company was only one of 2 that returned our phone calls and came out for an estimate. Because of the hurricane situation, it took weeks for them to come out for the repairs. They sent out one guy, who seemed in a hurry, sandwiching us in between other jobs in the area. He did a decent job on repairing the siding, but the roof patch still leaked. Chose C & C for a complete roof replacement. When it was time to sign contract no one ever showed up. Never heard anything else from anyone. Chose a different company and the process went much faster and they honored all of their commitments. Price was better too. Will not do business with or contact C & C again. I didn't appreciate my time being wasted. <br />

I spoke with the sales representative. He mentioned that he tried to call the homeowner to follow up on the estimate but never heard back from the homeowner. <p>Not well. </p> <p>The person (John) who came to look at the house did not look at the roof, he stated that he was not permitted to access roofs when the weather was bad (there was a recent snow, but nothing on the roofbut it was windy).</p> <p>He walked around my house giving me a sales pitch on their warranty and why I shouldn't use other contractors because they are not "MASTER CERTIFIED".</p> <p>He didn't seem interested in reviewing the problem areas. Thank you for bring this to our attention. We have looked into this situation and there seems to have been a communication breakdown. The salesman showed proof of sending the roof estimate to you in a timely manner and then sent the siding estimate at a later date. I called for an estimate and they have an answering service on the weekends. I had to wait for a call back on Monday. When I did, they couldn't view my roof until that Friday. I didn't get a quote from that viewing until Tuesday. Since i'm selling my house, I was in a time sensitive situation which i relayed to them. Their recommendation was to repair a 20+ roof with shingles that may not match. I asked for a quote for a new roof and that took another 3 days. Would never recommend. They put a new flat roof on our family room 2 years ago which already had to be replaced in the Fall. They should have removed the old roof and replaced with a new, which they never told us needed to be done. The roof leaked into our family room and had to have repairs done inside due to their horrible work. And they would not compensate us for the damage caused by them.
